Barbara Lee Reed Gibson, 83, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 16, 2018 at her home in Asheville, NC with her daughters by her side. She was born on November 5, 1934 to the late Lee Clyde & Edna Gaddy Reed, and was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County. Barbara was witty, full of love, and loved by everyone.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William E. Gibson, Jr.; son, Ronald L. Gibson; brother, Ronald J. Reed; and sister, Delma Warren. Surviving are her daughters, Deborah Pariseau and husband Ron of Mars Hill, NC, Joel Johnson and husband Steve of Asheville, NC, and Cheri Gibson of Leicester. NC; granddaughter, Avery Doyle and husband Evan of Sutton, MA; grandson Will Johnson of Asheville, NC; great-granddaughters, Emma and Hadley Doyle of Sutton, MA; great-grandsons, Ian & Declan Johnson of Asheville, NC; and sister Dorothy Cox of Asheville, NC.

Her grand-children and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 22 at 11:00am at Grace Methodist Church, 876 Newfound Road, Leicester, NC 28748, officiated by Pastor David Warren, with a private burial following the service. The family will receive visitors an hour prior to the service starting at 10:00am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Methodist Church. The family would like to thank Four Seasons Hospice and her Grace Methodist Church family for their support and kindness after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
