Gayle Chandler Winsor, 83, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Givens Estates. Born March 3, 1935, in Buncombe County, she was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Sneed and Emett David Chandler. She was a 1953 graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School and a 1957 graduate of Duke University.

Surviving family include Betsey Winsor Ambler (Scott) and David Coville Winsor (Debra); and grandchildren, Helen Constance Ambler, Sarah Gayle Winsor, Amy Catherine Winsor, David Coville Winsor, Jr., and Hope Elyse Winsor. The family expresses their appreciation to Tim Barrett of Four Seasons Hospice and to the staffs of Starnes Unit of Givens Health Center and Wood Assisted Living Center. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2018, at the Pulliam Chapel, Givens Estates.

Private family interment will be at Cane Creek Cemetery, Fairview. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Givens Estates and/or Four Seasons Hospice in Flat Rock.
