Our greatest teacher passed away, leaving behind a legacy of learning to all who knew her. Barbara was born March 15, 1927, to Thelda Bowers and Ira James Page in Kamas, Utah. Barbara was a graduate of South Summit High and Brigham Young University, receiving 4 degrees that included a Master’s Degree in Education.

She taught at Beaver High School for 2 years prior to serving in the New England Mission June ‘50- Dec. ‘51. Upon her return, she instructed PE, Driver’s Ed.

, and Health Ed. at Lehi High School. She married Donald Scott Wilkinson, November 25, 1953, in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Leaving her career for 10 years to start her family, Barbara was an amazing mother to Greg, Brenda & Carolee Wilkinson. She returned to her teaching career and adored her children as well as the other 900+ students she taught at Hillcrest Elementary as a 3rd grade teacher in the Alpine School District. Mrs. Wilkinson was known for her amazing programs, economics, science, art appreciation units which were well known throughout Alpine School District.

Her teaching style included activities that embraced Cultural experiences often featured in news articles. She taught students beautiful penmanship through discovering facts of each President of the United States. Education was engaging in her classroom.

She became a widow at 49, lost her son, yet lived independently in her home until age 88. She was surrounded by loving ward members she has known for 53 years and wonderful care givers at Jamestown & Beehive of Draper Assisted Living facilities as well as her amazing staff from Hospice4Utah. Barbara was well loved and cared for by her daughters, grandchildren and adored by her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters: Brenda W Palmer of Sandy, Utah; Carolee (Brent) Adams of West Newbury, Massachusetts; 6 Grandchildren with 4 amazing grand-husbands, 4 beautiful Great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Gregory Scott Wilkinson, age 30, her parents and all 5 siblings (Donna Elder, Ora Chapman, Gerald, Keith, & Gail Page) Funeral Services: Friday, October 19, 2018 at 11 a.m. Viewings: Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.; Friday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral services and viewings will be held at the Oak Hills Chapel, 1985 North 1500 East, Provo, Utah.
