Obituary for Barbara Valentine Goodwin (Valentine) Barbara Valentine Goodwin, 69, of Kennebunk, ME and Vero Beach, FL passed away on November 24, 2018. Barbara was born January 18, 1949 in Atlantic City, NJ, the daughter of William and Dorothy (Johnson) Valentine. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Billy.

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband, David Goodwin of Kennebunk and Vero Beach and his three children, Jennifer Goodwin (Gregg Malatesta) of Arlington, MA, Jonathan Goodwin (Allison) of Belmont, MA and David Goodwin (Nancy) of Sudbury, MA. Barbara was educated in the Linwood, NJ schools and received her bachelor and master’s degrees from Ohio University. Barbara was a Learning Disabilities Specialist in the Cambridge, MA Public Schools, retiring as the Head of Learning Disabilities.

Barbara had a zest for life that brightened the lives of those around her. She was great of heart and touched all who knew her. She was an avid gardener, a great cook who loved to entertain, and she loved nothing more than decorating her indoor and out of door spaces.

She will be missed by her many tennis buddies and bridge pals. Services for Barbara will be private. A contribution in Barbara’s memory to support Sarcoma Research may be made to the Catherine J. Malatesta Foundation, 64 Winchester Road, Arlington, MA 02474.
