Bartley “Bart” Smith, 57, of North Platte, died June 3, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. He was born December 29, 1960 at Itazuke Air Force Base in Fukuoka, Japan, son of Lowell and Shirley Smith. Bart accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at a young age and held fast to his faith in God for all of his days.

He enjoyed fishing, lapidary, and many other hobbies as well as attending auctions. Bart worked in various positions including: boat building, construction, textiles, retail and customer service. Bart was a member of the Cowboy Church in North Platte.

Surviving are father, Lowell Smith of Curtis, NE, sister, Denise Smith of Ballwin, MO, along with aunts, cousins and friends. Bart was preceded in death by his mom Shirley, grandparents Roy and Jenny Smith and Arthur and Ella Benson. Services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Pastor John son officiating.

Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the donors choice.
