Patricia Karlene Koch of Eustis died on September 19, 2018 in her home in Eustis. Patty was born on October 22, 1956 in Lexington, NE to Harvey I and Sarah E (Potter) Wing. She grew up in Gothenburg and attended school there.

In 1973 she married Robert W DeMilt Sr. From this union they had six children; Tamara, Tobias, Robert Jr, Joseph, Joshua and Daniel DeMilt. Her children were the pride and joy of her life. Patty was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts, Vacation Bible School Teacher and Sunday School Teacher.

She also was the youth choir director for the “Cradle the King” production in North Platte. After her divorce from Robert in 1993, she met Kenneth R Koch of Eustis. They were married March 4, 2000 at St John’s Lutheran Church in Eustis.

Patty worked a wide variety of jobs, from a Hay Truck driver, fast food restaurant server, to Baldwin Filters in Gothenburg. Then in 2000 she took a position again working with children when she became a paraprofessional in the Lexington High School assisting with the Special Education and English Language Learners. Even though she specialized in Algebra, Patty loved working with the students and tried to instill her love of reading.

In the summer of 2006 while looking for a summer job, she began working for Marriott Hotels Reservations, in a pilot program of agents working from their home. She continued to work for Marriott for the last 12 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Brady Days became a huge celebration for her. All of the grandkids loved going to the festivities and Mom loved watching it all. One of her favorite events was watching her own kids play in the annual softball tournament on Sunday.

Patty enjoyed several hobbies. Working on various crafts, reading, jigsaw puzzles and making her own “corny” holiday cards for her grandkids. Decorating for Christmas was a month long affair.

She usually had a different themed tree in every room of the house. She also cut out and painted many yard art decorations at Christmas too. Planning parties, family reunions, and even a wedding became her latest hobby.

Camping with her family was one of her favorite pastimes. But her biggest passion was probably Husker Volleyball. She rarely missed a game.

She memorized the roster and could tell you who each player was and what position they played. Patty was preceded in death by her son Robert W DeMilt Jr and her mother, Sarah E (Potter) Wing Moon and Step father Charles Moon of Yakima, Washington, and a very dear lifelong friend Dee Breedlove. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Koch of Eustis, a daughter, Tamara (Robert) Palmer of Brady and four sons, Tobias DeMilt of Brady, Joseph (Rebecca) DeMilt of Bellevue, Joshua DeMilt of Mesa, AZ and Daniel (Kate) DeMilt of Kearney.

Fourteen grandchildren: Thomas, Josie and Karlene Palmer of Brady, Ethan Loibl of McCook, Alec and Brittney DeMilt of North Platte, Tyler (TJ), Lucas, Marley and Tabitha DeMilt of Omaha and Ryland, Gunner, Jagger and Felicity DeMilt of Kearney. Her parents Harvey Wing and step mother Betty Wing of Gothenburg, sisters Debbie Mayers of Gothenburg. Laurie (Steve) Summers of Madrid, a niece, yes just one, and many nephews.

Not to mention the many great nieces and nephews as well. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018, 11:00 am, at Faith Chapel, 520 9th Street, Gothenburg, NE. Memorials may be given to Central Plains Hospice, P.O. Box 108, Cozad, NE 69130 or Faith Chapel, 520 9th, Gothenburg, NE 69138.
