Obituary for Bascum Chase Dickard Beloved son, devoted father, cherished brother and friend of many, Bascum Chase Dickard, age 32, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in Hallsville, Texas. Chase was born on May 13, 1986 in Longview, Texas to Mark Dickard and Pamela Stafford Spence. He is preceded in death by his Grandfather, Clyde Dickard and his best friend, Shane Miller.
He is survived by his sons, whom he adored, Bascum Wade Dickard and Dalton Glezen; his parents, Mark Dickard and Pamela Spence (Rusty); his brothers, Bryan King (Jessica) and Colton Dickard (Katie); his step-sister, Emily Willis (Michael); his grandparents, Helen Dickard, Bobbie Doerge (Watson) and Charles Stafford. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Destin King, Hunter King, Connor King, Kaydin King, Kenlee Dickard, Tailor Willis, Cheyene Willis and Molly Willis; his aunts and uncles, Charlie D. Stafford, Scott Dickard (Sherry), Lisa Stephens (Bill), numerous other family members and life-long friends. Chase attended Hallsville High School.
He was proud of his many years as a roofer and most recently worked in the meat department at Skinners. Chase loved the outdoors, always looking for a new adventure, loved cooking and loved to keep everybody laughing. He had a huge heart, was fearless and loved being a big jokester, but his true passion in life was the time he spent with his sons.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held at Meadowbrook Funeral Home on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral Service will be held at Meadowbrook Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 10:00am with Dr. Danny Warbington and Lance Rogers officiating.
Interment will follow at Noonday Cemetery where he will be laid to rest in the family plot. Pallbearers will be Colton Dickard, Aaron Hendrix, Wes Campbell, Alex Rae, Dustin Dickard, Randall Scott, Casey Long and Rodney Copeland. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials in Chase’s name to Mending Fences, C/O Trails End Cowboy Church of Harrison County, P.O. Box 1073, Hallsville, TX 75650.
