Basil L. Vasilarakos January 31, 1966-February 11, 2019 Basil L. Vasilarakos, 53, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 in La Porte, Indiana. He was born January 31, 1966 in Gary, Indiana, the son of Loucas Vasilarakos and Thespina (Pagonis) Vasilarakos. Basil graduated with a degree in culinary arts where he utilized his cooking skills working for the family restaurant at Louie’s Cafe in La Porte.

He also enjoyed listening and playing music. He is married to Kristen (Asala) Vasilarakos who survives. He is also survived by his two sons, Lucas Vasilarakos of Phoenix, AZ, Sam Vasilarakos of Phoenix, AZ; Brother, Tom Vasilarakos of La Porte, IN; sister, Miriam (Bill) Guinee of Valparaiso, IN; grandchild, Tytan Vasilarakos of Phoenix, AZ.

Basil was preceded in death by his father, Loucas Vasilarakos. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave. , LaPorte, Indiana.

A private family service will be held. Interment will follow at the Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sts.
