Formerly of Monroeville and Pitcairn, a resident of Concordia in Plum, age 88, died peacefully surrounded by her family, on Sunday, December 16, 2018. Beloved wife of the late George W. Stagon who died on October 25, 1965. Precious mother of Cheryl (Bob McGivern) Stagon of Monroeville, George (Barbara) Stagon of Plum and Elizabeth (Dan) Kudravy, of Pitcairn.

Treasured grandmother of Fr. Matthew (Pani Eleni) Stagon of NJ, Jeffrey (Nicole Quantz) Stagon and Constance (Tyler) Kimmel. .

Great-grandmother of Seraphim, Luka and Hariklia Stagon. Sister of Michael (late Veronica) Sterchak of Level Green and Charlie Sterchak of Pitcairn. Bea was preceded in death by her siblings, John Sterchak, Mary Kattalia, George Sterchak and her twin sister, Barbara Hess.

After her husband, George died, Bea became an employee of Foodland in Forest Hills and, later, Shop n’ Save in North Versailles from where she retired. Bea has been a longtime member of St. John Orthodox Church in East Pittsburgh where she baked and cooked for all church events. She also loved to read, checking out multiple books on each library visit.

Friends are welcome Wednesday from 2-7 at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 700 Linden Ave. , East Pittsburgh (412-824-8800) where a Parastas will be prayed on Wednesday at 7pm. Divine Liturgy in St. John Orthodox Church on Thursday at 10 a.m. Bea will be laid to rest in William Penn Cemetery, Churchill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John Orthodox Church, 211 Cable Ave. , East Pgh. , Pa.
