Belinda Dell Cumbo Smith , July 20, 1956 — May 22, 2018

Belinda Dell Cumbo Smith , 61, of Stella died May 22, 2018 at UNC Memorial Hospital Belinda fought a good fight against acute pancreatitis for 7 ½ weeks with her loving devoted husband by her side each step of the way. Belinda loved every loving moment she spent with her husband Billy, her dog Reba, dancing, watching old movies, the Carolina Panthers, singing to Elvis and oldies along with spending time with her family. She worked Civil Service at Camp Lejeune and retired after 32 years.

Sometimes God sends “Special Angels” to families to hold and cherish and Belinda was most definitely one of these SPECIAL ANGELS! ! She was a devoted wife to William “Billy” Wayne Smith.

She was also survived by her father, Jason Willis Cumbo of Cape Carteret: sister, Teresa Cumbo Smith and husband James B. “Bucky” Smith, Jr, both of Stella: sister, Lisa “Jaye” Cumbo Pendergast Spring, and husband Paul D. Spring of Swansboro and nephew, Robert Jason “R.J.” Pendergast, , of Wilmington. Other relatives along with their families include: James Buchanan “Billy” Smith and Esther Frost Smith of Newport: Judy Smith Styron, Amy Larder, Esther Smith Ballou, Larry S. Smith, Harry H. Smith, and Richard L. Smith. She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Waters Cumbo of Cape Carteret, and nephew, James Buchanan “J.B.” Smith, III of Stella.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Maysville with the Rev. Fallon Melvin officiating. Visitation will follow the service in the fellowship hall.

A private burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery. Our Beloved Belinda will surely be missed but never forgotten! Services entrusted to Sayland Funeral Home in Maysville.
