Ben David Crook April 25, 1936 – February 15, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card CROOK- Mr. Ben David Crook age 82 of Ridge Road Brewton, Alabama passed away Friday February 15, 2019 in a local hospital after a brief illness. He was a native and life long resident of Brewton, Alabama. Mr. Crook was a member of the May Creek Methodist Church and was a retired machine operator from Monsanto with 36 years of service.

He loved woodworking which is evident as you look aroung his household at some of the most beautiful handcrafted items proudly displayed throughout the home. Many of the older homes around the Brewton area have cabinetry built and installed by him. He loved gardening and many times after filling his freezer he would invite the community to come pick what they wanted and enjoy some of the best turnips around all for the price of a thank you.

Mr. Crook while shopping in the grocery store often times take notice of someone who appeared to be struggling with their budget, he would check out and inform the cashier that so and so person coming through, he was paying for their grocery bill. On the flip side of his giving and helping people was the trait that if you did something for him you would not get away with recieving some type of payment. Survivors: Wife of 64 years- Miriam Lorraine Cook of Brewton, Alabama (1) Daughter- Cathy Elaine (Bob) Rhodes of Monroe, Louisiana Sister- Mary Emmons of Brewton, Alabama Granddaughters- Katrina Steed, Tiffany Doss Great Grandsons- David Crabtree, Bobby Shane Crabtree, Brendon Steed Great Granddaughter- Gabriela Cook (1) Niece (4) Nephews ***Preceded in death by- Parents- Alton and Evie Mae Crook Brother- William Crook Sister- Lena Wilson Visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon February 19, 2019 from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at WILLIAMS MEMORIAL CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME BREWTON, ALABAMA.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday afternoon February 19, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at WILLIAMS MEMORIAL CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME. Interment will follow in May Creek Cemetery Brewton, Alabama with WILLIAMS MEMORIAL CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME OF BREWTON, ALABAMA DIRECTING.
