Bennie C. Lolley, 80, of Phenix City, AL passed away Saturday afternoon, January 5, 2019 at East Alabama Medical Center Lanier in Valley, AL. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm EST on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Dr. Stephen Ward and Pastor Jonathan McClain officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm EST on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Lolley was born November 30, 1938 in Sellersville, AL to the late Hollis Lolley and Iletha Weeks Rials. He had worked for Uniroyal Tires in Opelika and was retired with many years of faithful service.

He served our country proudly and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He then continued to serve in Air Force National Guard for 25 years and retired as Master Sergeant at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, AL. He was a former member of the Phenix City Moose Lodge and VFW.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening, and listening to country Gospel and blue grass music. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hurtsboro. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ann Tolar, and Sue Johnson.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 27 years, Ruth Williams Lolley of Phenix City, AL, two daughters, Sheila Truitt and husband Larry of Lafayette, AL, and Michele Brown and husband Greg of Dothan, AL; (5) grandchildren, April Long, Amber Curry (Shane), Kyle Brown (Hailey), Jake Brown (Grace), and Jordan Brown, and (3) great grandchildren, Caleigh Ann Long, Carson Long, and Ben Luke Curry, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many caring friends. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in memory of Mr. Bennie C. Lolley.
