Berlin “Bert” McCarty, 78, of Mt. Sterling, died Saturday, January 19, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He was born March 2, 1940 in Morgan County to the late Ernie and Victorine Lykins McCarty.

“Bert” was a native of Montgomery County where he worked as a carpenter. He enjoyed collecting die cast cars, spending time outdoors and often had a wood working project underway. “Bert” loved children and will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

Survivors include; one brother, David McCarty of Mt. Sterling, one nephew Joe Centers of Mt. Sterling; three nieces Heidi McCarty of Middletown, OH, Lisa Muncie (Travis) and Robin McCarty both of Jeffersonville; one aunt Laura Hammonds of Mt.

Sterling; two sister in-laws, Christine McCarty of Mt. Sterling and Connie Craig of Jeffersonville; one great niece Mallory Fielder of Jeffersonville and one great nephew Taylor Holt of Middletown, OH. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Bert Brashear; three brothers Harold McCarty, Kenny McCarty and Gene McCarty and one sister Norma Centers.
