Bernard (Bernie) A. Spon, age 91, went to be with the Lord on December 15, 2018. He was born December 26, 1926 in Rochester Mills, PA. He was a member of the Barberton Church of God for over 50 years, where he was very active within the church.

Bernie was also a Red Cross Volunteer for 17 years and an avid blood donor accomplishing 40 gallons in donations. Preceded in death by his wife Leona Spon, granddaughter, Dawn Wenger. Survived by his children, Lugene “Rusty” (David) Drexler and Art (Joan) Spon; grandchildren, Kaaren Wenger, Nick Spon, and William Drexler; great grandson, Jared Wenger; sisters, Lois Lyons, Dolores Marlin, and brother, Eudell Spon.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Barberton Church of God, 885 North Summit St., Barberton, OH 44203. Pastor Chuck Erbe officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at 9:30 on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Barberton Church of God. Memorials may be made to the Barberton Church of God or the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater East Ohio Area Chapter, 70 W. Streetsboro St. Suite 201, Hudson, Ohio 44236.
