Bernard M. Raykowitz, 84, of Bristol, TN passed away Monday, May 6, 2019 at his home. He was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on May 17, 1934, a son of the late John and Mary Geffert Raykovitz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Sue Proffitt Raykowitz and brothers, Raymond, John, and Frank Raykovitz.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, served during the Korean War, and received several military service medals. He attended St. Anne Catholic Church. He had worked for Life of Georgia Insurance Co., Pilot Oil Corp.

, and worked some for King Pharmaceuticals and Fingerhut. Bernard is survived by his two daughters, Mary Raykowitz of Bristol, TN and Joan Hobbs of Bristol, TN; son, Joseph Raykowitz and wife Kathy of Bristol, TN; three grandchildren, Alexandra Raykowitz of Knoxville, TN, Jesse Raykowitz and wife Kayla of Bristol, VA, and Timothy Hobbs and wife Brittany of Midland, GA; great grandsons, Jackson and Harrison Hobbs; sisters, Mary Williams, Helen Bolacker, and Rita Galenti; brother, Stanley Raykovitz and wife Jean; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2019 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Bristol, VA.

The funeral mass will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Reverend Chris Hess officiating. The committal service and interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Military honors will be provided by Chapter 40 of the D.A.V. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the charity of your choice. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Bernard M. Raykowitz please visit our Sympathy Store.
