Obituary of Bernard Franken Bernard N. Franken 1920 – 2018 Herkimer Mr. Bernard N. Franken, 97, a longtime Utica resident passed away on, Thursday July 12, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He was born in the Town of Ohio on November 18, 1920 the son of Gerard and Edith Etherton Franken and received his education in the Poland Central School District. Bernard proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II until his honorable discharge.

In 1948 he was united in marriage to Sophie Dombrowski until her passing in 2008. He was employed for thirty – two years with Remington Arms until his retirement. His survivors include his sister Alice Franken of Hawaii.

As well as several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Kowalczyk Funeral Home, 1156 Lincoln Ave. , Utica.

Those who wish may call one hour prior to the service. Entombment will take place in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Holy Trinity Cemetery with Military Honors. Light a Candle at: www.
