Obituary for Bernice L. “Bern” Long LONG, Mrs. Bernice L. “Bern” – age 79, passed away, Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Wellbridge of Rochester Hills. Family hour 10:30AM Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Word of Life Christian Church, 79 Elizabeth Lake Road, with funeral services commencing immediately at 11:00AM. Pastor Michael E. Joyce, Officiating.

Interment Oak Hill Cemetery, 216 University Drive. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church at 10:30AM Saturday. Mrs. Long will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry Street, and may viewed from 1:00 PM – 8:00PM Friday.

The Family will be present from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Mrs. Long leaves to cherish her memory: children, Linda (Frank) Long-Rodgers, Cynthia (Curtis) Rush, Vernita (Steven) Parker, Charles (Tulya) Long and A’Kena (Larry) Long-Benton; grandchildren, Cynetha Rush, Curtis Rush, II, Courtney and Whitney Rodgers, Yvonne Zachary, Nicole, Cleo and Alexus Long and Keonay Parker; great grandchildren, LaJuan Long, Jr., Amare Harris, Erik Long, Frank Rodgers, III and Chayse Long-Rayner; siblings, Demeteria Brown and Mahir (Cyntia) Zuri; lifelong friends, Alma Mills, Loretta Wright, Orlanda Green and Barbara Herron; and a host other relatives and friends. Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Long; children, Carolyn Wallace, Michael, Leonard and Lester Long; grandson, LaJuan Long, Sr; parents, Minnie and Richard Briscoe; siblings, Jim Briscoe, John Henry Briscoe, Emma Jane Briscoe, Louise Briscoe, Marvin Lee (Alberta) Granderson and Robert “Chote” (Ruby) Granderson.
