Obituary for James Allen “Jimmy” Overton OVERTON, Mr. James Allen “Jimmy” – age 95, passed away, Sunday, December 16, 2018 at St Joseph Healthcare Center – Hamtramck. Family hour 10:30AM Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Providence Missionary Baptist Church, 299 Bagley Street, with funeral services commencing immediately at 11:00AM. Pastor Robert Martin, Officiating.

Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 North Belford Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church at 10:30AM Saturday. Mr. Overton will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 268 N. Perry Street, and may viewed from Noon – 8:00PM Friday.

Mr. Overton leaves to cherish his memory: children, Anthony (Shontrell) Overton of Fort Mill, SC, Sheryll Diane (Ted) Wright, James Allen Overton, Jr., Sandra Overton-Eddie, Sharnae “Nikki” Oveerton and Valerie Overton; a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and other relatives and friends. Mr. Overton was preceded in death by his son, Theo Overton; parents, Louis and Easter Overton; siblings, Henrietta Wilks, Arthur Overton, Elizabeth McCoy and Theo Overton.
