She leaves behind her legacy to her mother; Bernice Garmon, 3 sons; Kareem Mallard, Allen(Tina) Young, and John Brooks, 1 daughter; Adrian Young, 5 brothers; Carl Garmon, Johnny Garmon, Byron Garmon, Alfred Garmon, and David Garmon, 5 sisters; Janice Williams, Patricia McElwain, Brenda Garmon, Deborah Grant, and Theresa Garmon, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. Bernice worked as manager at HT Hackey. She loved music, puzzles, and bowling.

She was a great mother and grandmother. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 07, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Ivy K Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Avenue SE. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, November 08, 2018 at Prince of Peace Baptist Church, 715 Evergreen Street SE, at 12:00 PM.
