Mozena, 75, of Weirton, WV, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH, died Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center-University, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born October 1, 1943 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Kendall R. and Mary June (Hanna) Mozena. He graduated from Martins Ferry High School and Ohio University.

Bert served 2 ½ years in the U.S. Navy and four years as an active U.S. Naval Reserve officer. Bert lived in the Norfolk, VA area for 10 years where he taught high school. He was also a teacher in other various city school systems before moving back to Martins Ferry where he taught at locations in OH and PA.

In addition to teaching Bert loved to travel the world. Bert was the past president of the Belmont County Chapter of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association Inc He was a member of the Colerain Presbyterian Church and resided with his sister for eight years in Weirton, WV where he attended Cove Presbyterian Church, Weirton, WV.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother; Kendall H. Mozena, nephew, Dean Mozena, and brother-in-law, Raymond L. Lewis. Surviving are his sister, Suellen Lewis of Weirton, WV, nieces; Dana (Rodney) Dragonir and Robin (Quint) Hukill, nephew, Gene (Patricia) Mozena and five great nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Friday 4 to 8 p.m. where services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.

Thomas N. Thomas officiating. Burial follows at Olive Branch Cemetery, Harrisville, OH. Condolences to the family may be made by signing the guest book at the top of this posting.
