Betty Elaine Novoa, age 70, of Fairburn, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018. She was born in Columbia, SC, on November 28, 1947, to Charles Whitaker and Essie Mae Lyles. She was a pre-K teacher.

She was preceded in death by brother, Charles James Whitaker, Jr She is survived by: mother, Essie May Lyles of Columbia, SC; daughter, Raina Dennis of Hampton; son, Edgardo Novoa of Jonesboro; sisters, Jackie McCollum of Stone Mountain, Donna Rogers of Winston Salem, NC, Lovetta Williams of Blythewood, SC, Venice Inabinet of Columbia, SC, and Mamie Scott of Brigham, AL; brothers, Willie Whitaker of Troutman, NC and Odell Lyles of Fayetteville; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Holly Hill Funeral Home.

The visitation will be two hours prior to the service, from 11:00-1:00 PM.
