Betty J. Lancen, age 96, passed peacefully on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Court House Manor. Born on September 24, 1922, in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Waldo and Mabel Bell Lynch Brown. Betty was a Sabina High School graduate and retired from Randall.

Later, she owned and operated Betty’s Rest Haven, a nursing home, in New Vienna. Betty was happiest taking care of her children and grandchildren. She loved her dog, Hopper, and all other animals.

Betty was an avid Reds fan and loved to cook and sew. Betty is survived by her children: Waldo Lancen of Sabina and James (Elaine) Lancen of Dickinson, TX. Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren: Lynn Ann, Jonette Jane (Ronnie), James Phillip (Rebecca), Donna Rebecca (Anthony), Danny (Debra) and Glen; great grandchildren: Sarah, Zachery (Ashley), Daniel, Taylor Reed, Elizabeth, Kirsten, R.J. and Graysen; several other great-grandchildren; special niece, Sue Riley; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Lancen, in 2004. She was also preceded by grandson, Tracey Lee; and siblings, Dora Rebecca Riley and Waldo Emerson Brown. Family will receive friends at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Monday, January 7, 2019, from 2-3pm, when a funeral service will begin.

Burial to follow at Sabina Cemetery.
