Obituary for Betty Jane Arndt Betty Jane (Carpenter) Arndt, age 90, of Janesville, WI, passed away on May 23, 2018. She was born in Janesville on February 6, 1928 to Frank and Lillian (West) Carpenter. She grew up in Clinton, WI with her three sisters, Dorothy Ellefson, Ann Johnson, Virginia (Jo) Spiehgman, and her three brothers, Homer, Wilbur, and Frank Carpenter.

She attended Clinton High School. On October 7, 1961 Betty was united in marriage to Frank Arndt. The most important thing in her life was family, including her husband and three children, Susan (Richard) Wisch, Stephen (Susan Johnson-Arndt), and Shelley O’Meara.

Betty began her career at Parker Pen, and then moved to Fairbanks Morse for 13 years. Next, she worked at Mercy Hospital for 26 years as a nurse’s aide and an EKG technician. Outside of family and work Betty enjoyed pottery/ceramics, volunteering, and gardening.

Her garden both at home and at her church were beautiful reflections of her efforts. Betty was an active member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church for many years.

She was also an avid bowler and has many trophies to prove it. Betty’s greatest delight was her family that grew to include her three children, her grandchildren, Jeff and Jaime Wisch, Mallory (Brad) Blazer, Spencer (Carly) O’Meara, Rachel and Dalton Arndt, and her great-grandchildren Makenzie and Morgan Wisch, Devin, Zoey, and Lyla Blazer, Lily and Scarlett O’Meara. All the grandchildren thought Thanksgiving and Christmas at Grandpa and Grandma’s were some of the best times.

Betty is survived by her son, Stephen her grandchildren, Jeff, Mallory, Spencer, Rachel and Dalton; sister-in-law, Dorrie Carpenter; niece, Frannie Carpenter; extended family Becky Wisch and Patti Schreiber; and all of her great grandchildren. In heaven she is joyfully reuniting with her loved ones, parents, Frank and Lillian, husband Frank, siblings, Dorothy, Ann, Virginia (Jo), Homer, Wilber, and Frank, her daughters Susan and Shelley, her granddaughter Jaime, and her niece Sharon Carpenter. Funeral service for Betty will be at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday May 31, 2018, at Mt Calvary Lutheran Church, 2940 Mineral Point Ave.

, Janesville, WI, with Reverend Mike Schulz officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.
