BURNETTE, Betty B.; 93, of Mechanicsville, VA went to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 25, 2019. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, John G. Burnette; grandson, William Philip Jenkins; and a great- grandson Noah Jenkins. Betty is survived by her daughters, Sandra Blanchard (Ken), Linda Doane (Joe), and Betty Anne Jenkins (William); 6 grandchildren, Bryan, Jon, Mark, Ryan, Laurie, and Will; 14 great- grandchildren, Zach, Savannah, Krissy, Connor, Ashlyn, Hunter, Reagan, Philip, Mollie, Camden, Mason, Myla, Leah, and Olivia.

Betty was a life-time member of the United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher at Prospect UMC; a member of the Lucy Blanton Circle at Mechanicsville UMC; member and past- officer of the United Methodist Women; and a member of the Eastern Star. She also served as a Brownie Troop leader and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Betty was employed for 21 years at Bank of America.

She enjoyed time spent with her family and friends as well as her church family. Her daughters wish to say a special thank you to the staff at The Masonic Home of Virginia for their compassionate care of their beloved mother for the last 8 years. The family will receive friends, Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 10 am – 12 pm, with a funeral service to follow at noon at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy.

, Mechanicsville, VA 23111. Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the veteran’s organization of your choice, or to The Masonic Home of Virginia Development Dept.
