Betty Jo “Bet” Grotegeer, 74, of Zanesville, died at 2:32 P.M. on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland. She was born October 25, 1943, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Joseph and Edith Gilmore Maxwell. Betty Jo was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of fifty four years, John W. Grotegeer, of the home, whom she married October 26, 1963; a daughter, Lisa (Mike) James; two grandchildren, Austin (Laura) James and Emily James; a great-grandson, Elliott Marshall; and two sisters, Delores Webb and Nancy Howe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Violet, Clara, Lenora, and Edith; and six brothers, Ed, Billy, Homer, George, Stanley, and Vernon. Friends and family may call from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018.
