Betty Joan Sanders MacGregor of the Crescent Hill area, Louisville Kentucky, passed away October 31st, 2018. Joan as she is known to family and friends, was born October 28th, 1929 in Perry County Ky. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wendell P. Sanders and Eve Rayburn Sanders of Middlesboro, Ky; her brother Don P. Sanders in 2017 and Sister-in Law Marylu Cawood Sanders in 2018, both of Greensboro North Carolina.

Joan was educated in Perry county school system, graduating from Benham High School in 1947. She attended Georgetown College. Upon Completion of her college education she managed one of her fathers paint and wallpaper stores in Corbin, Kentucky for several years, before moving to Danville, Kentucky.

While living in Danville, she met her future husband Donald E. (Don) MacGregor while attending art class at Centre College. November 27th, 1952, thanksgiving Day, they were married in the Danville First Baptist Church, Danville, Kentucky. For several years they made their home in Southern Oldham County, Pewee Valley, Kentucky, later Moving to Louisville, Kentucky.

She was active in her church, Crescent Hill United Methodist Church, and was a long time member of the Joy Sunday School Class. She was a gourmet cook, a member of the Good Fellowship Club of the Crescent Hill Masonic order. In 1970 she was presented a Kentucky Colonel Commission by the Kentucky Governor for working to help the needy.

She retired in 1980 from the TG&Y Stores as head sales clerk manager. In 1961 the became parents of a daughter, Alice Kay MacGregegor. Joan and Don loved camping and fishing, and traveled to various camp and fishing locations.

They were world travelers, the toured through all of the United States, Eastern Canada, and Nova Scotia. They traveled through all of Western Europe, visited the Vatican , several large cities through Europe, England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. Joan is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Donald E. MacGregor, daughter Alice Kay MacGregor Sheehan (Louie Barber), Grandchildren; Faith Davis, Amy Copler, April McCloud, and Mathew McCloud (Candice), Ashley Sheehan, several Great Grand Children, Niece Marikay Abuzuaiter of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Nephew David C. Sanders of Southern Shores, North Carolina, and many friends.
