Betty Lou Day, 92, of Rochester, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 while surrounded by her family. She was born on July 12, 1925 in Boone, IA, the daughter of John and Carrie Ruschmeyer. She married Square Thomas Day on March 5, 1945.

She spent her life cooking and serving the best food in Rochester at the bowling alley and then later at petticoat junction. She loved her family, friends, and the St. Louis Cardinals. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers; one sister; and one son.

Betty is survived by one daughter, Carol Buchanan of Rochester; one son, Tom Day of Mesa, AZ; one brother, Bill Ruschmeyer of Springfield; grandchildren, Terri Bailey (Kovin Kuizinas) of Mt. Auburn, Tammy Kelly (Dan) of Riverton, Mike Day (Lynn) of Edinburg, James Day (Roni) of Sharpsburg, Tommy Day (Missy) of Springfield, Timmy Day of Florida, and Angie Tishler of Florida; and several great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester Illinois on Tuesday July 3, 2018 from 5-7:00 pm.

The funeral will take place at the funeral home on Thursday July 5, 2018 at 10:00 am with Pastor Charlie Carver officiating.
