TIMOTHY WILLIAM TAPIO, DIED OCTOBER 9 2018 AT HIS RESIDENCE IN SPRINGFIELD. HE WAS BORN IN WAUKEGAN ILLINOIS ON DECEMBER 14, 1966, THE SON OF ARNE TAPIO AND PATTY NIEMI TAPIO. HE GRADUATED FROM SIU CARBONDALE WITH A BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREE IN PSYCHOLOGY AND COMPLETED POST GRADUATE CLASSES.

HE WAS PREVIOUSLY EMPLOYED AT THE IL DEPT. OF PUBLIC AID, SAM’S CLUB, AND JAY’S LANDSCAPING SERVICE. HE WAS A HIGH SCHOOL CHESS CHAMPION AND HIS INTERESTS INCLUDED PHILOSOPHY, MARTIAL ARTS, DOGS, TROPICAL FISH AND PLANTS.

HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS FATHER, ARNE TAPIO OF SPRINGFIELD; HIS BROTHER, TERRY TAPIO OF BEACH PARK; HIS SON, JOHNATHAN TATE OF DECATUR; AND HIS NIECE. NO SERVICES ARE PLANNED AT THIS TIME. ELLINGER-KUNZ AND PARK FUNERAL HOME IS IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS.
