Betty’s Obituary Betty Lou Kennedy, 93, of Scottsburg, IN, passed away at 1:37 AM on Monday, March 11, 2019 at her home. Born February 25, 1926 in Eureka, SD, she was the daughter of Theophil Werre and Edna Mae (Nisley) Werre, who are both deceased. In 1946 in Hebron, IN, she married Donald Kennedy who preceded her in death.

Betty retired in 1985 from the United States Postal Service in Louisville, KY. Betty enjoyed being with her family but especially loving on her grandchildren and working puzzles. In her earlier years, she enjoyed riding horses, camping, and traveling.

Survivors include her 4 children, Toni (Rex) DeLong of Canyon, TX, Jenna Townsend of Solon, OH, Cullen (Tara) Kennedy of Pekin, IN, and Tamara Thieneman of Scottsburg, IN, 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren, and 1 sister, Jackie Jewett of Hamilton, OH. She was also preceded in death by 1 son, Robin Kennedy, 1 brother, Earl McGrath, 2 sisters, Delores Fellmy and Jeannie Potter. Cremation Services has been entrusted to Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Scottsburg with burial to follow at Bunker Hill Cemetery.
