Betty M. Corlew, 89 of Jefferson, Ohio died Saturday (July 14th) at the Jefferson Health Care in Jefferson after a long illness. She was born June 19, 1929 in Ashtabula the daughter of George and Kathryn (Hastings) Lytle and has been a lifetime time resident most of her life. She had been employed for over 35 years at Jefferson Lanes in Jefferson.

She enjoyed bowling, and had been a Girl Scout Leader when her daughter was young. She was an active member of the Compassionate Friends Group. Surviving her are her four children, Kenny Corlew of Jefferson, Kathy (Mark) Rex of Ashtabula, Danny (Lynn Damario) Corlew of Painesville and Jeff (Tracy) Corlew of Florida; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Margaret “Peg” McNatt of Jefferson.

She was preceded by her parents; her step-father, Arthur Esslinger; her husband, Kenneth Corlew; a son, John Corlew; a sister, Jean Peterson and a brother, Arthur “Butch” Esslinger. A memorial service will be Wednesday (July 18th) at 6:30 PM at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 West Jefferson St. Jefferson with Rev. Mick Gilliam officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:30 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to Compassionate Friends. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
