Betty O. (Otis) Murphy, 91, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Governors Center. She was born in Springfield to the late Leo and Ruth (Clark) Otis and was a 1944 graduate of Westfield High School. During WWII she was employed by the government, then worked for Stanley Home Products, she retired in 1993 from Westfield Public Schools where she worked as a secretary for 26 years.

Betty enjoyed baking, cooking, ice cream, Las Vegas & Washington, VT, crosswords, gardening, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Betty is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, William D. Murphy, her daughters, Maureen A. Murphy with Hardy Golston of Pinehurst, NC and Sharon L. Petitt and her husband Charles of Westfield, two grandchildren, Shannon L. Towse and Chelsea M. Berchulski and her husband Ben, three great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Ryan and Breyden. Betty is predeceased by her son, Steven D. Murphy.
