Chesterfield, SC Mrs. Betty Melton Odom, age 77, entered into rest on Friday, July 13, 2018. Funeral Services will be 4:00 PM Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Oakland Baptist Church by Dr. Phillip Hunter with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM prior to the service in the sanctuary of the church.

Mrs. Odom was born February 7, 1941 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Floyd Wilbert and Ruby Elizie Burr Melton. She was a retired employee of Chesterfield Manufacturing and a faithful member of Oakland Baptist Church. Betty enjoyed talking and never met a stranger.

She will be remembered for her love for the Lord, her church, and her family. In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by her husband, James D. “Jimmy” Odom; 4 brothers, George “Bobby” Melton, Rev. Floyd Melton, Jr., Rev.

Larry Dean Melton, and Rev. Lonnie Wayne Melton; and 1 sister, Elzy Rae Linton. Survivors include her daughters, Nancy (Kenny) Matthews, and Cindy (Nathan Gardner) Curtis both of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Brad Deese, Jeremy (Brittany Vasseur) Curtis, and Nina Deese; granddaughter of the heart, Ashley Roscoe; great grandchildren, Trent Deese and Raegan Canipe; also numerous nieces and nephews.
