Betty Wisehaupt was born in Camp Hill, PA, the daughter of the late Edward F. Donbaugh, and Anna L. Reeseman. She grew up in Shiremanstown, PA, and later attended Lemoyne High School where at 14 years old, she met the love of her life, Ed Wisehaupt.

It was a moment neither would ever forget. As the story goes, Ed was a star athlete who had caught the eye of another girl. So Betty’s sister, Jeanne, intervened and orchestrated a party that Betty could invite Ed to.

She did, Ed came, and that was the beginning of a love story that saw them married at 19 years old and remain happily married for the next 70 years. Betty was a devoted and loving wife, a wonderful and involved grandmother (“Gram”) to her six grandchildren, and a loyal friend to all. If ever there was a perfect example of motherhood, Betty personified it, and took it seriously.

She set the bar high, and was beloved by all who knew her. She was “Mom” to everyone. Those who were close to her are grateful for the good fortune of having her as such a big part of their lives.

She was a truly wonderful woman with an open heart for others. She made the world around her a better place, and loved her home in the mountains where she lived with Ed for over 60 years. Betty is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Dave and Shawn Wisehaupt and their children, Matt and Ben; Dan and Libby Wisehaupt and their children, Shannon and Mason; and Doug and Wendy Wisehaupt and their children, Grant and Paige.

She is also survived by her siblings, Jeanne,Barry, Helen, and Eileen. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, May 30th, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at the Mt. Laurel Cemetery, Piketown.
