Memorial services for Betty Redd, 63, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 3:00 p. m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Quentin Matthews officiating. Ms. Redd was born March 14, 1955 in Livingston, Texas, the daughter of James Tolar and Velma (McNeil) Henry, and received her angel wings Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in Lufkin.

Ms. Redd enjoyed quilting, fishing, and working with her plants on her patio. She loved her grandkids and going to family reunions. Ms. Redd enjoyed going to the casino and playing scratch-offs with her friends and family.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Morton (Steve Page) of Hudson; son, Gary Redd (Kirsten Redd) of Central; granddaughters, Shelbie Paulsey and Lauren Paulsey, both of Hudson; grandsons, Ashtyn Redd and Rylan Redd, both of Central; grandson, Casey Morton of Hudson; grandson, Carson Redd of Central; great-grandson, Bentlee Paulsey of Hudson; sister, Louise Ratliff of Baytown; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Darwon Evans of Livingston; half-sister, Pam Shaver of Silsbee, TX; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Ms. Redd’s special friends in the Blue Bonnet Neighborhood at Larkspur. Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home, prior to the memorial service.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shafer Funeral Home, directors.
