Bettie Clayton Turner Bettie Robinson Clayton Turner, affectionately known as “Auntie” and “Toot,” was born Oct. 21, 1923 to Annie Kimbrough Robinson and Calvin Robinson in Jackson. Bettie transitioned from life to eternal rest May 3, 2019.

She was 96 years of age. Bettie was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Mt. Sinai No.

1 Baptist Church, serving faithfully for many years on the Usher Board and in the Missionary Department. She also worked with the White Circle Organization. Bettie married the late Rev.

Luther Clayton and to this union six children were born. Later, she married Deacon Frank Turner. Bettie was a loving and caring person who was very outspoken, she loved her family and cared for four generations of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, a brother and granddaughter. Her memories will be forever cherished by her children, Maxine Warren of Shreveport, La. , Luther Mae Golston of Albuquerque, N.M., Rebecca (Randle) Carter of Carson, Calif.

, Mamie (Paul) Brown of Desoto, Texas, Luther Gilbert Clayton of Albuquerque and Frank (Von) Turner Jr. of Rockville; one sister, Luvenia Scott of Mobile; 14 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren; with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Service will be Saturday, May 18, with viewing from 11 a.m. until the 12-noon homegoing service at Mt. Sinai No.

1 Baptist Church, 665 Evergreen Road, Jackson, with the Rev. Vincent Pete Crayton, pastor, and Pastor Walter Bruce Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
