Betty J. Gaddis, 85, of Owensboro, died Thursday, November 8, 2018, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born July 7, 1933 in Daviess County to the late Earl Wade and Margaret Grady Wade. She had worked at General Electric and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.

Betty enjoyed fishing, crocheting, working puzzle books and watching Christian programs. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Madalynn Matlock; great-great-granddaughters, Bella and Violet Hocker; and four siblings. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, James “J.C.” Gaddis; a son, Jerry Henderson (Lynn); two daughters, Linda Payne (Michael) and Brenda Prater; five grandchildren, Jennifer Matlock, Kassie Winder (Adam), James Michael Payne, Shannon Hocker (Danny) and James Prater (Jamie); nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lillian Taylor.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 12, 2018 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Entombment will be at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday and after 9 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
