OBITUARY Beverly A. Moore November 19, 1933 – October 22, 2018 Beverly Angeline (Roy Hudson) Moore 84, of Court Street, Keene, NH, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018 at the Maplewood Nursing Home, Westmoreland, NH. Her parents, Adonias J. and Lillian (Stone) Roy, proudly welcomed their daughter into the world on November 19, 1933, in the family home in Ashuelot, NH. Beverly grew up in Ashuelot where she attended their four-room schoolhouse and then later graduated from Thayer High School in Winchester in 1951.
In 1956, she married John Hudson, with that marriage ending in divorce. However, they shared the birth of their three children, Mindy, Jay and Jeff. On October 3, 1981, Beverly married James C. Moore in Keene.
A very hard worker, Beverly worked with the Public Service Company of New Hampshire; was a realtor/broker with Dick Conway Real Estate in Keene; and later worked with her husband at Clesson’s Color Center also in Keene. She also worked at the Motel 6 Division of Accor Economy Lodging, from which she retired in May of 2002. Not wanting to stop working, Beverly went to work in 2005 with the Keene Sentinel, once again, retiring in 2009.
Beverly was very active within her community, volunteering for the American Red Cross, and co-chairing the blood drawings in Keene. She also served on the Board of Directors of The Woodward Home in Keene; was a longtime member of the Keene Emblem Club; a charter member of the John Blake Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary in Brattleboro, VT; a longtime member of the Keene Women’s Club where she served as president for four terms; a former member of the Keene Country Club; and was a member of the Gordon Bissell American Legion Keene Post 4 Auxiliary. She was also a longtime parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Church in Keene.
Beverly was an avid fan of both the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. However, she enjoyed watching all sports on the television. She also enjoyed reading; playing bridge; and completing crossroad puzzles.
She especially enjoyed family get-togethers with her large extended family, and she doted on her grandchildren, and was very proud of all of their accomplishments. Beverly will be greatly missed by many, especially her children, Mindy Hill and her husband, Skip, of Keene; Jay Hudson of Exeter, NH; Jeff Hudson and his wife, Andrea, of Akron, OH; her brothers, Joseph Roy and his wife, Ellen, of Hinsdale, NH; and William Roy and his wife, Carrol, of Columbia, NH; her sisters, Lorraine Lechlider and her husband, Bill, of Keene; and Cynthia Roy of Keene; her grandchildren, Katie Scott and her husband Bryan, of North Reading, MA; Adam Hill and his wife, Maggie Lavelle, of Worcester, MA; Tara Henley and her husband, Tom, of Penacook, NH; Amy Walters and her husband, Jason of Troy, NH; Vicki Hudson and her finance, Ben Rourke, of Gilford, NH; Jenifer Hudson and her partner, Mike Gowell, of Keene; Brian Hudson of Kent, OH; Kyler Hudson and his wife, Claire, of Ravenel, SC; Shanda Walter and her husband, Josh, of Ammon, ID; and her great-grandchildren, Julia Scott, Samuel Scott, Jocelyn Henley, Teddy Henley, Matthew Hudson, Michael Hudson, Alexis Walters, Olivia Hudson, Elijah Hudson, Peyton Gowell, Parker Gowell, Blake Walter, Hudson Walter; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was predeceased by her husband; her parents; her brothers, Dennis Roy and James Roy; her sister, Barbara Bellville; and her daughter-in-law, Lori Hudson.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 11:00AM in St. Margaret Mary Church, 33 Arch Street, Keene. Burial will follow in the Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Avenue, Keene. There are no public calling hours.
