OBITUARY Beverly Elizabeth Porter April 23, 1943 – July 12, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Beverly Elizabeth Hyde Porter, 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 12, 2018. She was born to the late Charlie Hyde Jr. and Bertha Briley Hyde on April 23, 1943. Beverly was raised in North Carolina and moved to the city of Charlotte when she was 18 years old.

She wanted to become a nurse but was told that she was to soft-hearted. She worked in the banking industry and then moved into the medical field for 30 years as an administrator. Beverly enjoyed most of all travelling, reading and taking care of those whom she loved and cherished.

She will always be remembered for having great joy for her family. Beverly is preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Firmin Joseph Porter, Jr She is survived by her daughter Cherie and Son-in-Law Chad Cassells; grandchildren Briley and Mylee; siblings Mary Della Hyde and Charles Hyde.

Visitation will take place at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 6:30-8:30pm. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 11:00am also at McEwen Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
