William, “Bill”, Foy, the son of Walter and Barbara Foy, was born in Quitman, Georgia on August 8, 1953. He attended Brooks County High School and was an outstanding student athlete, competing in football, basketball and tennis. He was awarded a full athletic scholarship to Georgia Tech University where he played football as an outside linebacker (The Stinger) from 1971-75.

His summers were spent at Camp Jocassee for Girls where he led many adventures and brought great joy to others. Following graduation, he started in sales with Jostens and ended his career as CEO of Rollerblade and then President of Prince North America. Following retirement, in 2014, he returned home to Quitman, Ga.

Billy passed away, surrounded by family, at his home on May 2, 2018 This outline only hints at the courage with which Billy lived. He had strong character and energy of a hero, racing down a mountainside to rescue his toddler brother from a whitewater river, holding an Appalachian felon at gunpoint when he was only twelve, and raising a family while nearly an adolescent himself. Bill rose in the corporate ranks to become an international figure in business.

He was a great father and role model for his boys, and an excellent husband to his loving wife, Rhonda. He always considered his children his greatest joy. With optimism and grace, Billy lived the last few years of his life with Alzheimer’s/CTE.

Bill is survived by his wife, Rhonda Foy, two sons, Walt and Chase Foy, grandchildren, Emilee and Will Foy, brother, Dan Foy, sisters, Brenda Springfield and Mim Rice, and friends in Quitman, Albany, Georgia, Minneapolis, Minnesota and Princeton, New Jersey. An informal barbecue dinner celebrating his life will be held at his home at 3354 Troupeville Road, Quitman, Georgia, May 5 from 4:00-8:00pm. All who knew him are welcome.

His family suggests that donations to the Alzheimer Foundation of America (www. Alzfnd.org) would best honor his memory.
