Mr. Horace “Gene” Williams, 73 of Adel passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 from an accident on his farm. Mr. Williams was born April 16, 1945 to the late Horace & Inez King Williams. He served in the United States Army and was a retired farmer.

Mr. Williams was a member of Open Door Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Williams of Adel; children, Robert (Linda) Williams of El Paso, TX, James (Lacinda) Walker of Nashville, Kimberly (David) Rutland of Adel, and son in law, Shaun Roberts of Hahira; grandchildren, Jack Lindsey, Michael Lindsey, Madison Williams, Ty Wilkerson, Bryce Wilkerson, Autumn Lindsey, Tristen Daniels, Hannah Walker, and Emily Walker; one great grandchild, Harlow Wilkerson; two brothers, Bobby (Iris) Williams of Jacksonville, NC, and Chris (Rhonda) Williams of Jacksonville, NC; several nieces & nephews. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his daughter, Regina Roberts; and one brother, Johnson Williams.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 15, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Open Door Baptist Church with Rev. Gary James and Rev. Jody Futch officiating.

Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery Annex with military rites. The family will be receiving friends Saturday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home.
