Bill Prater August 18, 1943 – December 27, 2018 Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Billie “Bill’ Karl Prater, son of the late Jess M. and Elsie M. (Asher) Prater was born August 18, 1943 in Buick, Missouri. He departed this life on December 27, 2018 at his home in Redford, Missouri. Billie had attained the age of seventy-five years, four months and nine days.

On May 18, 1963 Bill was united in marriage to Judy Carl in Viburnum, Missouri. To this union one daughter was born. Bill attended church at the Redford Church of Nazarene and worked his life doing what made him happy; raising horses and cattle.

Bill was known as the community mechanic in the Redford area; he also served as a member for both the Reynolds County Saddle Club and the Reynolds County Fairgrounds. He enjoyed riding and showing halter horses, hunting deer and turkey, but most of all he loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Jess and Elsie, Bill is preceded in death by two infant brothers and five sisters; Beulah Spears, Ola Gaddis, Eula White, Doshie Foster, and Bonnie Cash.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Judy of Redford, Missouri; one daughter, Lisa Moss and husband Calvin of Ellington, Missouri; four grandchildren, Steve Prater and wife Angie of Redford, Missouri, Kimberley Marquis and husband Jayson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Molly Black and husband Nick of Van Buren, Missouri, and Nathan Moss of Ellington, Missouri; six great grandchildren, Ava, Braden, Chloey, Mayson, Brystal, and Eliza and Baby Ruby on the way; three sisters, Freedia Smith and husband Harold of Oates, Missouri, Zola Lay of Bunker, Missouri and Ruth Fulhorst and husband Jim of St. Peters, Missouri; a special foster brother, Norman Stallings of St. Louis, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends who mourn his passing. Visitation: Saturday, December 29, 2018 beginning at 5:00 P.M. at McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellington, Missouri. Funeral: Sunday, December 30, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.

Ronnie Chandler to officiate assisted by Pastor Glenn Hunter. Burial will be held in the Asher Cemetery. Pallbearers: Steve Prater, Gene Smith, Terry Foster, Calvin Moss, Jayson Marquis, and Nick Black.
