Byron (Bill) Wilmer Sidwell, our loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away on October 13, 2018 at his home in Alpine, Utah after an extended illness. Our sorrow is countered by the joy we know he is experiencing as he reunites with his wife, LaRue, and other family and friends who have preceded him in death. Bill was born on October 19, 1934 in Nephi, Utah to Isabell Leavitt Sidwell Carter and Dean John Sidwell.

He attended Juab High School in Nephi, Utah His early life was marked by the rigors of rough and tough cowboy life. Bill was sealed for time and all eternity to LaRue Murray on June 23, 1955 in the Manti Temple of The Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints. In 1957 he served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany.

For 37 years he was employed by Chevron Oil as a Marketing Representative. His area of coverage was Northern and Central Utah and South East Idaho. After his retirement, he and LaRue moved to Alpine, Utah.

He enjoyed many life-long friends while traveling, playing golf and attending BYU football games. He and his sweetheart served various missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Price, Utah, Auckland, New Zealand and at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Bill also served with LaRue as temple workers at the Provo and Mount Timpanogos Temples.

He served as a High Councilmen, Bishopric Counselor and High Priest Group Leader, as well as District Chairman of the Boy Scouts of America. Survived by brother, Charles (Carolin) Sidwell; son, Kevin (Jobie) Sidwell; son, Glen (Billie Jean) Sidwell; daughter, Charlotte Sidwell; 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, LaRue Murray Sidwell; parents, Dean and Isabell Sidwell; brother, Jack Sidwell; sister, Newana Sidwell Kay; granddaughter, Madison Tate Sidwell.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the Mountainville 3rd Ward, 901 East Village Way, Alpine, Utah 84004. Prior to the service, friends and family are welcome to attend a viewing at the same location from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Alpine City Cemetery.
