Billy Gene Young, 73, of Bassett, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019 at his home. He was born in Northfork, West Virginia on August 23, 1945 to the late Claude V. and Georgia Mary Sloan Young. He was also preceded in death by his son, John Daniel Mullins; sisters, Christine Vickers, and Brenda Jones; and brothers, Melvin Young and Wayne Young.

He had worked at Stanley Furniture for over ten years, and was of Church of God faith. He was a wonderful dad and husband, and liked watching westerns, going to car shows and was a collector of many items. Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Reba Jackson Young; daughter, Karen Young; sisters, Mary L. Duncan, Dianne Joyce, and Debbie Paige; brothers, John Young, and Ronald Young; many nieces, nephews, and friends; and a special cat, Foofoo.

The graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Blackberry Baptist Church Cemetery in Bassett, Virginia, with Rev. Rudy Robinson presiding over the service. Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
