Billy Joe White July 15, 1967 – December 25, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Billy Joe White, age 51, of Sheridan, passed away on Christmas morning, December 25, 2018 at IU Health North Hospital. Born July 15, 1967 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, he was the son of the late William David and Barbara Joe (Stout) White.

Billy was a self-made man. After graduating from Celina H.S. in Ohio, he started forging his own path through life. Cars, both big and small, were what really captured his attention.

He was a master mechanic, and most definitely a master backyard mechanic. If something wasn’t working right and it needed tinkering with, Billy was your man. He worked for many years for Zore’s, Discount Tire, and Jiffy Lube, but working on cars never seemed to stop at quittin’ time.

Billy loved restoring cars during his free time, and if there wasn’t a project in the works, he filled the time collecting and constructing model cars. Working on cars was some of the best therapy that Billy could have ever asked for during his battle with cancer. His skills with his hands didn’t stop with cars; he was a real jack of all trades, working construction for a number of years with T-3 wireless.

When Billy had some down time, he feverishly followed his Pittsburgh Steelers. NASCAR was also a never-miss event in Billy’s house; he followed Dale and Jr.’s careers with an interest that only a gear head could have. Billy is survived by his 3 sons, William D. White of Alexandria, Alex P. White of Sheridan, Aaron D. White of Sheridan; step son, Austin D. Pace of Indianapolis; step daughter, Andrea Lynn Becker of Lebanon; 1 grandchild, Luna P. Pace; several siblings; and by his former wife and caregiver, Julia White.

A Celebration of Billy’s Life is being planned for a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kercheval Funeral Home in Sheridan.
