Blanche Mae Jones Flake, 76, of North Ave. , Kannapolis, NC, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018 at her residence. She was born July 14, 1942 in Cabarrus County to the late Jody Burris and the late Frances Boyce Jones.

Blanche was educated in the Cabarrus County School System. She was formerly employed with Cannon Mills. Blanche was a member of First Primitive Baptist Church where she sang on the Senior Choir.

Services will be held Friday, December 14, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel, 923 Indiana St, Kannapolis, NC. Visitation will be 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM with funeral services at 1:00. Burial will follow at Rutherford Memorial Park.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Louis Flake; a daughter, Elizabeth Flake; a sister, Daisy Ford and two brothers, David Jones, Jr. and Willie Jones. Those left to cherish fond memories include four sons, Ernest E. Flake (Jewel) of Concord, Eric J. Flake of the home, Gene L. Flake, Jr. (Olesia) of Kannapolis and Kenneth L. Flake of the home; 10 grandchildren: 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Jones of Concord; one sister, Vera Jackson of Huntersville; one brother in-law, Bobby Flake of Detroit, MI; two sister in-laws, Ida Mae Caldwell of Kannapolis, Dorothy Jones of Detroit, MI, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
