Obituary for Bob Powell Robert “Bob” Powell, 86, of Buckner, MO passed away Monday, April 16, 2018. A visitation will be held from 1-2pm on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Speaks Buckner Chapel 300 Adams St, Buckner, MO, 64016. A service will follow at 2pm at the chapel.

Interment will take place at Six Mile Cemetery. Bob was born on April 6, 1932 in St. Louis, MO to Edward and Nina (Parkinson) Powell. After school he drove semi-trucks for several different companies over the years.

On December 16, 1950 he married Treva Carter. Together they raised 5 children. He enjoyed playing pool, working in the yard, raising cattle, and would do anything to help a neighbor.

Bob was a member of the Central States Teamsters Union and previous member of the Steel Workers’ Union. He will be remembered by his wife of 68 years, Treva, of the home; children Janie Beard of Tecumseh, MO, Robert “Bob” Powell and wife Bonnie of Springdale, AR, Ted Powell and wife Shana of Buckner, MO; siblings Ed Powell and wife Claudine of Independence, MO, Ella Oldham and husband Harold of North Kansas City, Darline Purl of Sedalia, MO, Wanda Bledsoe of North Kansas City; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and special friends Mike and Teresa Cook. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Billy Corum and Dick Parker, sister Delores Harper, and sons Eddie Powell and John Powell.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Six Mile Cemetery Association. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.
