OBITUARY Lavada Ileane Cargill August 17, 1936 – September 18, 2018 Lavada Ileane (Taylor) Cargill passed away peacefully September 18, 2018 at the age of 82. Ileane was born in Elizabeth, AR on August 17, 1936 to Alvin and Lola Taylor. Ileane and Kenneth Cargill were married in June of 1953 in Viola, AR and to this union, had four children.

Ileane was baptized in the Big Creek in Arkansas. Later, after moving to Independence, MO, she often worked multiple jobs at a time to raise her children, and retired from Tension Envelope in 1980 after 25 years of service. Following her retirement, Ileane was able to travel some and was happy to help raise her granddaughter, Rachel, who she supported in all things.

During that time, she also took care of and babysat several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ileane enjoyed quilting blankets for all of her family, enjoying the outdoors through gardening, mowing and house repairs, and the casino from time to time. Ileane loved visits with her family.

Most of all, Ileane treasured time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren while teaching them how to be hospitable and selfless. No one ever left Ileane’s house hungry or thirsty. Her specialty was fixing a big breakfast and was famous for her chocolate gravy.

Ileane was also a caregiver of those family members who were sick, tirelessly visiting the hospital and even fulfilled last wishes of her brother-in-law. She was thoughtful and didn’t miss a year decorating loved ones’ graves until the last few years, a tradition that she’d pass on to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
