OBITUARY Bill Bray May 2, 1924 – September 28, 2018 Bill Bray passed away on September 28, at the age of 94. He was born on May2, 1924, in Ft. Smith, AR to Robert and Lena Bray (Lambert) and was the last of nine children.

He was a Redcap at Union Station and retired from KCS railroad as a switchman. From the age of nine, Bill loved golf and was a golf pro who broke five course records and had 13 holes-in-one. He was signalman on the USS Es in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

He was a member of Eastgate Christian Church. Bill is survived by his wife of almost 71 years, Betty, and three children, Linda (Jerry) Adkins of Independence, MO; Dave (Kristi) Bray of Duluth, MN; and Rob (Cindy) Bray of Bradenton, FL; seven grandchildren – Scott, Brent, Chris, Jeff, Austin, Mandy and Jordan, as well as seven great-grandchildren. Services are scheduled for Wednesday, October 3, Newcomer’s Noland Road Chapel, 509 S. Noland Rd.

, Independence, MO. Visitation at 10 am, funeral service at 11 am. Burial at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO at 3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory can be made to Eastgate Christian Church, 4010 S. River Blvd.
