Obituary for Darlene Davenport (Massey) Darlene Davenport, 75, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, November 26, 2018. A memorial visitation will be held from 1-3pm on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO, 64055. Darlene was born on December 24, 1942 in Lexington, MO to Reverend Darrel Massey, Sr. and Rebecca (Delana) Massey.

She graduated from East High School in Kansas City, MO. Her parents owned a house at Lake of the Ozarks and she enjoyed taking summer vacations there with her family. Darlene enjoyed art and classical music but love spending time with her loved ones, most of all.

She will be remembered by her son Brad Davenport of Lee’s Summit, MO; brother Darrell “Buddy” Massey, Jr. and his wife Tanya of Dallas, TX; granddaughter Ella Davenport of Lee’s Summit, MO; plus many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at Research Hospital.
