Obituary for Delores Irene Alderman (McGee) Delores Irene Alderman (McGee), 84, of Independence, Missouri passed away on October 27, 2018 at Rosewood Health and Rehab Center, in Independence, Missouri. Delores was born on December 8th, 1933 in St. James, Minnesota to Haden “Frank” and Viola McGee. She grew up in Coon Rapids, Iowa with her two brothers, and three sisters.
Delores later relocated to Independence, Missouri where she raised her family while working 25 years for Western Electric (AT&T). She remained in Independence for the rest of her life and was a long-time member of Pleasant View Christian Church. Delores enjoyed fishing and spending time at the lake or traveling the country with Darreld and her friends.
She would never pass up a garage sale or catching a Royals or Chiefs game on TV. Most of all, she loved cooking for family and friends, and sharing a meal before a spirited game of rummy. Delores is survived by her husband Darreld, her children Shirley Long (Gary), Jeffrey Barnett (Kathy), and Sandy Barnes (Frank), five grandchildren, nine great-¬grandchildren, one brother, and one sister.
Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055 with burial to follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m., until service time Monday at the chapel.
